My name is Kim Seay and my husband, Scott, and I live in Defuniak Springs, FL. We have two children - Evan and Ally, and three grandchildren - Aden, and Thomas and Sophia who are twins. My husband is employed with CHELCO (Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative) in DeFuniak Springs where he holds the position of Vice President of Administration.
Scott and I both were born, raised, and attended school in Geneva. After graduating high school in 1981, I began a career with Fleming Companies in Geneva, a grocery wholesale company. I held various job positions over the years, with my last being in management in the merchandising department. It was during my employment with Fleming Companies that I attended school at night at Enterprise State Junior College where I earned an Associate in Arts degree. In June 2003, Fleming Companies closed the Geneva Division due to financial issues and corporate re-alignment directives. It was at this time I decided to return to school. I had always had a desire to be a secondary math teacher and felt this was my opportunity to fulfill that lifelong goal. I graduated in the Spring of 2006 from Troy University Dothan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education Mathematics. In December of 2008, I graduated from Troy University Dothan with a Master's Degree in Secondary Education Mathematics.
I feel very fortunate and blessed to be a math teacher at Geneva High School. I have been teaching at GHS since 2006. I look forward to teaching Advanced Geometry, Basic Geometry, Algebra II w/Trig, and Basic Algebra II this year. My desire and goal is to help every child I can be successful both academically and socially.
